489.3 MILLION DINARS FOR 77 PROJECTS OF LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENTS

23. April 2019.

Belgrade – Branko Ruzic, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, signed contracts with 63 mayors and municipal presidents, which would enable the implementation of 77 projects in local self-governments worth almost half a billion dinars.

Minister Ruzic pointed out that the projects that would contribute to the development of municipalities and cities for the benefit of the citizens, related, inter alia, to the construction of infrastructure, the introduction of e-Government and to the organization of cultural, tourist and sporting events.

According to him, the novelty compared to last year's call for applications is the financing of projects for reducing the risk of natural disasters.

He reminded that on March 13 this year,  the Ministry issued a public call for local self-governments to apply for projects that would be partially or fully financed from the Budgetary Fund for Local Self-Governments.

The Minister specified that this year’s funds had been increased by 50 percent compared to last year’s ones and that they amounted to 489,365,000 dinars. He also said that 200 projects had arrived for the public call, but that only 77 of them had been approved due to limited funds.
