221 TEACHERS FROM PCINJ DISTRICTS ON THE LIST OF REDUNDANCIES

Presevo, Bujanovac – According to the Ministry of Education’s data, 4,504 persons employed in schools have become redundant this year.

Most people employed in schools lost just some of their classes, but some 400 of them remained without any classes or completely without engagement. At the same time, there are 30,067 job vacancies in which the redundant employees could be engaged. Teachers with temporary contracts are engaged for the working places that are marked as vacant, because of the ban on employment, which has lasted for the past four years.

Members of the Trade Union believe that redundant teachers will be better cared for and assigned to vacant working places this year, because the Minister of Education sent technical instructions to the schools requesting them to terminate all contracts with the workers engaged for a specified period of time until the redundant workers are assigned.

The Ministry of Education’s data show that there are 221 teachers from Pcinj District that are on the list of redundancies. Most redundant teachers are in Vranje, 76 of them, followed by Surdulica with 47 of them, Presevo with 37 and Bujanovac with 31. There are 15 redundant teachers in Vladicin Han, 9 in Vranje Spa and 6 in Trgoviste.
