21 INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR OF BEEKEEPERS HELD IN VRANJE

VranjeThe 21st International Seminar of Beekeepers, at which around 300 participants from Serbia and Macedonia gathered, was held in Vranje.  

”Beekeeping, as a branch of agriculture, has a great potential, and the city of Vranje will provide maximum support to beekeepers in the future," said Slobodan Milenkovic, the Mayor of Vranje, at the opening of the event.

According to Aleksandra Janjic, a city councilor, between 70 and 100 tons of top-quality honey is produced in the city of Vranje per year. 

“This is a very profitable branch of agriculture and we plan to continuously organize training courses and to open a school for beekeepers, "Mr. Janjic said.

The fight against falsifying honey on the market and the beekeeping technologies were the most important topics discussed at the seminar. The seminar was organized by the Regional Beekeepers Association of South-East Serbia and the “Matica” Association of Beekeepers. The deserving persons were presented with letters of thanks.
