MEDVEDJA OPENED FLOOD RELIEF ACCOUNT

Medvedja – The municipality of Medvedja opened a sub-account for the payment of specific-purpose funds.

Purpose of payment: Funds for Eliminating the Consequences of Floods in Serbia in 2014.

FIVE TRUCKS CARRYING AID SET OFF FROM BUJANOVAC RED CROSS OFFICE

Bratislav Lazarevic, the Secretary of the Red Cross Office in Bujanovac, said that five trucks carrying aid for the flood-afflicted in Paracin had set off from the Red Cross warehouse in Bujanovac.  

He pointed out that the collected aid included  clothing for adults and children, shoes, hygiene items, canned food, water, blankets and diapers.

MEDVEDJA SENT AID AND OPENED SPECIFIC-PURPOSE ACCOUNT

The municipality of Medvedja opened a sub-account for the purpose of collecting specific-purpose funds that will be used for repairing the damage caused by floods in Serbia. Anyone wanting to help can pay their contributions in the specific-purpose account number  840-3055741-84.

RED CROSS AND CITIZENS OF PRESEVO COLLECT AID

A campaign for providing aid to the flooded areas is underway on the premises of the Red Cross Office in Presevo, which is located in the Presevo local community of ”Zeleznicka stanica (Train Station).

MEDVEDJA WELCOMES 2, 000 FLOOD VICTIMS

The major of the municipality of Medvedja, Slobodan Draskovic, said that the municipality was ready to immediately receive around 2, 000 people from the flooded areas.

NO THREAT FROM MINES IN BUJANOVAC AND PRESEVO

Branislav Jovanovic, the Director of the Mine Action Centre, said that the Centre was closely  monitoring the situation in the municipalities of Bujanovac and Presevo, where there were unexploded mines and bombs from as long ago as 1999 and where the rain had washed away the earth.

“There are no indications that anything has changed. All mined areas are clearly marked, "said Mr. Jovanovic.

The General Secretariat of the Government of the Republic of Serbia informs that as of May 18,  2014,  a PayPal account is active, through which it is possible to pay from 193 countries and regions humanitarian aid to the flood victims in the Republic of Serbia. LESKOVAC’S AID FOR THE POPULATION OF THE FLOODED AREAS

Leskovac - As far the flooding of streams and rivers is concerned, the situation in the area of ​​Jablanica district is currently stable. 

The only repair works currently performed are those on the bridge in Predejane, which are carried out by the “Maki Plast” company, while special military units are engaged in Medja, at the spot dedicated to the firing range for tanks.

YOUNG MAN FROM PRESEVO WENT MISSING

Milos Nikolic, a young man from Presevo, hasn’t returned home since May 6 and has disappeared without a trace since then.
