Cooperation with international partners

The international community is one of the partners of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Coordination Body and the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. As of 2001, the international community, through many projects, has been contributing to the development of the infrastructure of the three municipalities, investing in the development of the economic potential and funding the projects that have contributed significantly to an improvement in the quality of life of the citizens of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. The Coordination Body tries to implement each and every project in partnership with the following key stakeholders - the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and international organizations. Such an approach proved not only to be justified, but it also produced the best results.

The Coordination Body recognizes the importance of open and continuous cooperation with the international community. We participated in all the major international aid’s projects, from the United Nations programs MIR 1, MIR2 and PBILD, to  the EU PROGRESS program.   We jointly launched the initiatives and developed the activities that best suited the needs of the local population.  

Thanks to the support of the international community, the projects that are crucial for the development of the municipalities were implemented. In addition to the above mentioned major projects, significant are the investments of bilateral donors that support the projects in the areas that they identified as important for the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

The Coordination Body with its international partners actively develops the best solutions for solving the problems in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. The projects that we have implemented with international partners were aimed at improving the situation in the fields of the economy, infrastructure, education, health care, social policy, gender equality, youth and sports, and many other key areas.

In addition, the Coordination Body discusses with the international community political issues, the  resolution od which contributes to the advancement of the rights of members of the Serbian, Albanian and Roma communities in three municipalities. The OSCE Mission to Serbia, through its office in Bujanovac, coordinates the activities of the international community in the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. The Coordination Body’s communication with the OSCE Mission to Serbia, as well as with all other international partners, is constant and it crucially contributed to the devising of a series of development projects in the past thirteen years.
