YOUNG PEOPLE FROM THE YOUTHBUILT PROGRAM MARKED THE INTERNATIONAL ROMA DAY

Presevo, Bujanovac - In honor of the International Roma Day, the young involved in the YouthBuilt program, in cooperation with the Presevo Youth Office, organized the exhibition of photographs and traditional costumes of the Roma in the lobby of the Presevo Cultural Center. The exhibition was organized with the aim of informing the community about the identity, traditions, culture and language of the Roma ethnic minority and raising the public awareness about the importance of tolerance, equality and respect for diversity. There was also a screening of the documentary "The Life of Roma in Serbia", which presented the difficult life of the Roma.

On the very same day, the young engaged in the YouthBuild program, in cooperation with the CRC, Roma organizations and the "Branko Radičević"  elementary school from Bujanovac marked the International Roma Day at the "Vuk Karadzic" Cultural Centre in Bujanovac, where the cultural and artistic program was organized, through which the tradition of the Roma was presented.

The marking of the International Roma Day is just one more in a series of various activities that young people from the YouthBuild program undertake under the slogan “We are All Equal”, the purpose of which is the promotion of tolerance and multiethnic values.
