WINTER CLOTHES AS DONATION OF THE ISRAELI EMBASSY TO REFUGEES IN PRESEVO

18. December 2015.

Presevo - The Israeli Embassy in Belgrade sent a donation to the Refugee Center in Presevo, which includes 100 sets of jackets, boots, gloves, socks and caps.

“We are very glad that we can help people in need.  This is not a political act, but a human one. From heart to heart. From people to people“, said Ambassador Jossef Levy.

He said that it was a small and symbolic donation of clothing and footwear for the needy people from the people of Israel.

According to him, there are so many migrants and refugees, people seeking a better future for their children, so that it doesn’t matter who they are.

“This is a humanitarian and symbolic gesture, since Israel is a small country," he said and pointed out that the donation would help a large team of volunteers and doctors who were already working in Presevo.

Ambassador Levi said that Serbia treated the refugees humanely and expressed gratitude to the Serbian authorities that have "allowed us to help people."

He pointed out that Minister Aleksandar Vulin himself helped many times with delivering containers and bringing doctors and other volunteers from Israel to help migrants.

“Serbia is a humanitarian corridor. You have a Corridor 10, but a humanitarian corridor, too, passes through Serbia," said the Ambassador.

The event of sending the donation was attended the Israeli physician Maji Assi from the “Nathan” organization, who has been helping migrants in Presevo for a month.

“We are glad that we can be part of this humanitarian campaign," she said, adding that everyone  at the Refugee Camp in Presevo, regardless of their nationality and faith, gathered there for the same mission - to help people.
