UNDP SERBIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN HELP PRESEVO IMPROVE WATER SUPPLY AND UTILITY SERVICES

Presevo - Representatives of the Embassy of Japan and the UNDP Program in Serbia handed over to Sciprim Arifi, the Mayor of Presevo, the technical documentation that would make it possible for the residents of the municipality to have improved water supply and quality utility services.

Upon the ceremony of handover of the general project of water supply in Presevo, the new premises of the “Moravica” Public Utility Company were officially opened.  In that way, the completion of one-year project, worth 130,000 US dollars, was marked. The project, which funded by the UNDP Program in Serbia and the Government of Japan, was implemented in cooperation with the municipality of Presevo, the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration.

Sciprim Arifi, the Mayor of Presevo, expressed appreciation to the Government of Japan and the UNDP because they "recognized the emerging needs of the local self-government in the migrant crisis, and helped the municipality to better respond to the challenges and problems it faced."
