TRAINING FOR HUMAN RIGHTS ACTIVISTS (DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 21, 2020)

The Committee of Lawyers for Human Rights YUKOM, the Belgrade Center for Security Policy and the Association "People's Parliament" invite human rights activists to apply for the training in Novi Sad, which will be held at Salas 137, on September 29 and 30, 2020, commencing at 10 am

The training is aimed at passing on the knowledge and skills to local activists with the aim of expanding their opportunities and increasing the number and quality of activities of local human rights defenders, which further leads to improving the level of human rights protection. The two-day trainings will include a training program on the protection of activists' rights, public advocacy, protection of personal safety and the like, which are formulated in accordance with the needs identified through a previously conducted survey.

Upon the training, which will be held in 15 cities in Serbia, the organizations and activists from the cities and surrounding places that took part in the training would be involved in further activities and additional training during the three-year project. During 2021, they will be invited to submit their project proposals that seek to contribute to solving a problem in the local community regarding the protection of rights in the areas they deal with or the improvement of their position in the environments in which they work.

Please confirm your participation by noon on Monday, September 21, 2020. The number of participants in the training is limited, so that the training could be held in accordance with the measures for the prevention of the spread of the COVID 19 infectious disease.
