TRAG FOUNDATION ISSUED A CALL FOR THE 14TH VITRUS AWARD FOR PHILANTHROPY (Deadline: February 25, 2021)

29. January 2021.

The Trag Foundation has issued a call for the annual, fourteenth in a row, VIRTUS award for philanthropy. The call aims to give recognition to benefactors, both to individuals, companies and enterprises, that during the previous year supported those who needed help the most. The VIRTUS Award for 2020 is given with the financial support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) within the Project for Improving the Giving Framework, as well as with the financial support of the European Union and the Balkan Trust for Democracy.

“The idea of humanity is an integral part of our beings and is, thus, woven into different segments of our private and business lives. We always find the driving force for good deeds in the desire to help someone and to contribute to the improvement of life in the community around us. In times of great crises, such as the COVID-19 virus pandemic, philanthropy is of particular importance. Therefore, the Trag Foundation wants to highlight the companies and enterprises that have been particularly engaged in fixing the effects of the pandemic, but also the individuals who have made extraordinary efforts to minimize the effects of the crisis in their communities, as well as those who have continued to invest in long-term solutions to the problems in their own communities and promote positive values in society through their philanthropic work”, said Marija Mitrovic, the Director of Philanthropy and Partnerships at the Trag Foundation. She invited the citizens, non-profit organizations, the media, PR and marketing agencies, as well as companies, to nominate candidates for the VIRTUS Philanthropy Award and added: “Good people and responsible companies are all around us, help us to recognize them, present them to the public and award them”.

The VIRTUS Award for 2020 will be awarded in 5 main categories:

  • Main award for the company's contribution at the national level
  • Award for contributing to the local community in which the company operates
  • Award for small and medium-sized companies
  • Award for long-term partnership between business and non-profit sector
  • Award for individual contribution to philanthropy.

Nominate the companies, businesses and benefactors from your environment that supported the initiatives for the common good in the longest-term and most effective way over the past year!

The call for applications is open until February 25, 2021. The winners of the VIRTUS awards for 2020 will be announced during the first half of May.
