THE STATE ASSISTS RURAL HOUSEHOLDERS AND ARTISANS - IT RETURNS AT LEAST HALF OF THE INVESTMENT

26. August 2019.

The state will return at least half of the money invested to those who invest in tourism or in old and artistic crafts in rural areas. The call was issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, while the application deadline is the end of September. The rural householders that meet the requirements can count up to three million dinars, while craftsmen will receive up to 500,000 dinars.

Those who are familiar with the topic expect that the largest number of requests will relate to upgrading the existing facilities, such as building more modern bathrooms, buying kitchen equipment and playground equipment.

„The competition even envisages the construction of saunas, the purchase of furniture for apartments and rooms, but they seem to be most interested in the construction of heating installations, primarily for solar water heating systems, "says Vladimir Ivanovic of the Ljig Tourist Organization.

Savings are not the only reason for the environmental thinking of Serbian rural householders. They are increasingly seeing that business in keeping with nature is a good recommendation for attracting foreign guests.

"We have also linked these old crafts, which are attractive from the aspect of tourism, and on the other hand help farmers in remote areas to carry out some of their activities that are still done in the traditional way," said Branislav Nedimovic,  the Minister of Agriculture.

The Minister also says that they allow farms to connect agriculture and rural tourism at home and make the most of value and profit.

The incentives are granted to farms, companies and agricultural cooperatives. They can only invest in authentic catering facilities, or in the purchase of craft equipment and tools.
