Medvedja – The implementation of the project of reconstruction of the municipal building in Medvedja has started. Due to works on the municipal building, all municipal and state offices that have their premises in the municipal building were relocated to a few other locations in Medvedja.

The value of the project, which is funded by the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja and the municipality of Medvedja, is 52,795,088.76 dinars, of which the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja’s share is 44 million dinars and the municipality of Medvedja’s 9 million dinars.

Works are carried out by the "Investgradnja doo" Company from Leskovac, along with the "Crna trava" AD Leskovac and "Standard" AD Leskovac companies.

Under the decision on awarding the contract, which was signed by Svetlana Todorovic, the Head of the Municipal Administration in Medvedja, the deadline for the completion of works is 150 days, while those in charge of the project hope that reconstruction works will be completed within the next three months.

The municipal building in Medvedja was built after World War II and it is around 70 years old.

“The building was in a very poor shape, because it leaked, while the electrical installations were worn out, as well as the doors and windows, so that it was necessary to reconstruct it,” said Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja.
