THE PAVING WITH ASPHALT OF KING MILAN STREET IN BUJANOVAC

21. August 2013.

The employees of the "Saba Belca" Company from Presevo completed the paving with asphalt of King Milan Street, which used to be called Vardarska Street and which leads from the main road in Bujanovac to the green and cattle market.

The reconstruction of King Milan Street started at the end of this June.  In the section of the street that is 350 meters long, the old stone cubes by which the driveway used to be paved were removed, and, thereafter, sewers were placed in it and its sidewalks paved with asphalt. The "Saba Belca" contractor paved the six-meter wide roadway with asphalt.

The construction site was visited by representatives of the local self-government, which was headed by Mayor Nagip Arifi, who said that the works would continue and that a total of 850 meters of the street would be paved with asphalt, as well as that the value of the contract was 29 million and 880 thousand dinars. He pointed out that the works were funded by the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, which had provided 14 million dinars until then, while the remainding funds would be provided from the municipality's budget.

The mayor of Bujanovac, Nagip Arifi, said that the Construction Directorate would use the old stone cubes, which had been removed from the street, to renovate the other cobblestone streets in the city.
