THE ONLY RADIOLOGIST AT THE HEALTH CENTER IN BUJANOVAC IS RETIRING

Bujanovac - The Health Center in Bujanovac has had a lack of specialists for years, and now, at the time of the corona virus, it is in danger of being left without a single radiologist.

Dr. Sladjan Dimitirijevic will retire in two months, and for the time being, there is no replacement for him, which the Director of the Health Center, Dr. Daliborka Pavlovic, assessed as the biggest current challenge in terms of the staff.

“This is a pressing concern for us, because even if a young doctor was referred to specialization in radiology, it would take 5 to 6 years. We, therefore, need a radiologist, since the Health Center cannot operate without X-ray and ultrasound diagnostics. We have to find a solution together with the Ministry and we will work on that", the Director said.

The Health Center has had one dentist fewer than normal since January this year, also due to retirement.

“After the abolition of the 50 percent supplement to the salary, many specialists left, while we should also keep in mind the natural outflow. During that time, we did not get the approval for the admission of new doctors and there were no new specializations, so that is why we are now in this situation ", the Director said.

On Wednesday, the Director talked about the situation in the Health Center in Bujanovac and the lack of specialists with the Member of Parliament Nenad Mitrovic, who said that he would provide support to the Health Center with solving the problem.
