"THE HEART MADE OF VELVET" WON THE FIRST PRIZE

23. February 2015.

Medvedja – Students of the “Radovan Kovacevic” elementary school in the mining village of Lece, near Medvedja, which is attended by 50 students, have been making the best short films for the past two years and winning in the Agency for Fight against Corruption’s competitions.

All fifteen students of the schools’ seventh and eighth grade play in the film, which was shot by Sinisa Stankovic, the school’s informatics teacher.  Although these students make the best movies, they never had the opportunity to visit a larger cinema.

While filming the winning film "The Heart Made of Velvet", they, like real actors, had to repeat  some scenes of the film for as many as ten times.    The story of young people in love, who at one point decided to break into the school, for which they were punished, thrilled the jury, which presented them with the first award for the second year in a row.

In the competition of primary and secondary schools, "The Heart Made of Velvet" won 14.5 out of a maximum of 15 points.

In the 2013 competition of the Agency for Fight against Corruption, students from Lece also won the first prize with the film "The Surgery".
