THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA WILL COME UP WITH NEW MEASURES TO HELP THE PRIVATE SECTOR IF THE CRISIS LASTS MORE THAN THREE MONTHS

7. April 2020.

The Government of the Republic of Serbia will come up with new measures to help the private sector if the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic in Serbia lasts more than three months, said Finance Minister Sinisa Mali.

He specified that the measures from the economic support program had come into force on the day of the declaration of the state of emergency, on March 15,  and that they related to a three-month period,  as well as that the businessmen could use certain measures, such as deferred payment of taxes and contributions, for the month of March, too.

He also announced the possibility of sectoral support to certain industries that could be further affected by the crisis, should the crisis last.

He said that the state had prepared a package of economic measures worth 5.1 billion euros, which is half of the annual budget, if the crisis lasted for three months and specified that between 60 and 65% of those funds would be provided from the budget and the domestic securities market, while the rest would be provided by Serbia from the international financial market.
