STUDENTS OF ST. SAVA SCHOOL CELEBRATED THE SCHOOL DAY BY HOLDING A PERFORMANCE

Bujanovac – St. Sava secondary school in Bujanovac celebrated St. Sava school patron’s day on Monday.

Students of St. Sava school, together with students of the "Branko Radicevic" elementary school from Bujanovac, organized a performance that was held in honor of the first Serbian Archbishop. The room of the Cultural Center was packed with the viewers while students of both schools were performing a program dedicated to the life and work of St. Sava.

“The vocational school "St. Sava" proudly bears the name of the one who shaped us, enlightened us, the one who appears in every generation as the truth, the one who is our pride. Following the path of St. Sava, we support and follow the young generations, believe in them, encourage their efforts and highlight their successes, "said the School Director, Biserka Jovic, in a welcoming speech.

She pointed out that in the year that marked the nine and a half centuries of the existence of the St. Prohor Pcinjski Monastery and the 800 years of autocephaly of the Serbian Church, the St. Sava school would proudly celebrate 60 years of dedicated work. 

Nenad Tasic, Director of the “Branko Radicevic” elementary school, said that the teaching staff and students had the reason to be pleased.

“In the spirit of St. Sava, the teachers and students of our schools have worked diligently and tirelessly in the previous year. Your presence here today shows the importance of this ceremony and is a great honor for the “Branko Radicevic” elementary school, ” Mr. Tasic said on the Cultural Center’s stage.

By performing choirs, recitals and a play with motifs from the life of Saint Sava, the students of Bujanovac schools presented themselves to the audience in a dignified way.

The speech was delivered by the parish priest of Bujanovac, Mićo Zelenović, while Mile Stosic, the former secondary school director, addressed the audience.

Among the guests were representatives of the local self-government, political life, the Army of Serbia, the Serbian Orthodox Church and educational institutions from the municipality.
