STRENGTHENING THE REGIONAL CHAMBER SYSTEM

13. June 2014.

Bujanovac – The Regional Chamber of Commerce in Leskovac recently opened an office in Bujanovac, the aim of which is to enable better contacts between businessmen of this area with businessmen in the region, as well as to assist them with solving the issues related to the development of their companies.

There are a great many entrepreneurs and small private companies in the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac and most of them were pushed into the economy’s margins. That is why as many small businesses from Presevo and Bujanovac should be included into the regional chamber system, so that their appearance on the market could be facilitated and regional economic cooperation promoted.

90 percent of private companies in Bujanovac and Presevo have no more than two to three workers.  The chamber could support such companies by free visits to trade fairs, assistance with drawing up business plans and by providing the instructions for obtaining favorable governmental incentives, grants and loans.  The chamber could be their bridge to foreign markets, by means of their inclusion in the presentations of the regional economy. These are only the prerequisites for the survival and empowerment of entrepreneurs in these two underdeveloped municipalities, which would enable small private businesses to hire more workers.

There are around 11,000 jobless people in Presevo and Bujanovac.
