SIMPLIFIED PROCEDURE FOR THE EXERCISE OF THE RIGHTS OF FUTURE MOTHERS AS OF AUGUST 1

Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – A simplified procedure for the exercise of the rights of future mothers shall become effective on August 1, while the necessary documents will be obtained by the relevant ministry, which will be done at the expense of the budget.

Maternity benefits will be paid in accordance with the simplified procedure as soon as this August, so that the implementation of the Law on Financial Support to Families with Children, will, apart from financial support, bring about fewer papers and less waiting at the counters.

One currently needs 86 papers for the exercising of this right, including original documents, photocopies and copies of contracts. There are a large number of documents to be collected when a pregnant woman goes on maternity leave, while the couples who are faced with infertility have an even greater problem because of the procedures involving a bunch of documents.

Under the new law, the maternity leave papers shall, in the future, be automatically obtained by the relevant ministry and at the expense of the budget. The first compensations, without the bureaucratic burden on mothers and their employers, shall be paid on August 1.
