"SIGNED" - 100 SIGNATURES FROM BUJANOVAC

4. August 2014.

As part of the Autonomous Women's Center’s project "The Joint Effort - Towards New European Standards in the Protection of Women against Gender-based Violence", the Helpline from Vranje is implementing the “Signed” campaign.  In the second phase of the campaign, activists of the Helpline Vranje, in partnership with NGOs from Bujanovac, the Youth Office from Bujanovac and male and female volunteers of the Civil Resource Centre (CRC) NGO organized a collection of signatures, distribution of information materials and the putting up of posters in the center of Bujanovac.

Around 100 signatures were collected in the multi-ethnic municipality.  By this, a total of 300 citizens from the region of South Serbia supported and signed the request for a fast and effective implementation of the Council of Europe’s Convention on Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. The Helpline Vranje sent 300 postcards "Nobody Likes Empty Promises" to the addresses of major state and local decision-makers.

The campaign will be run in the other municipalities in South Serbia, too.
