Business Delegation from Turkey Visited Vranje and Pcinj District 

Vranje – Businessmen from Turkey are interested in making investments in South Serbia, it was said during a visit of the Turkish business delegation to Vranje. Members of the Turkish delegation, which was led by Fikret Tanriverdi, Vice-President of the Industrial Chamber of Istanbul, had talks with businessmen from South Serbia. Miroljub Stojcic, Mayor of Vranje, presented the economic potentials of Vranje to the Turkish businessmen and asked them to invest in the Pcinj District.

“Vranje is one of the Serbian cities that received a certificate of a favorable business environment, we are open to foreign investments regardless of the side from which they come, provided they contribute to  creation of new jobs and to a better life of the citizens’, Mr. Stojcic said. He pointed out that the city of Vranje had a long tradition of the textile and footwear industries.

Fikret Tanriverdi, Vice–President of the Industrial Chamber of Istanbul, said that “the purpose of the visit of the delegation of the Industrial Chamber of Istanbul, which includes representatives of every industrial field, is to improve the cooperation between the southern Serbian and Turkish businessmen”. “We have come here to get to know you and to begin working together with you as soon as possible. I can see that there are fruitful grounds for it in Vranje”, Mr. Tanriverdi said.

The visit of the Industrial Chamber’s delegation, which included 21 businessmen from Istanbul, was organized by the Leskovac regional Chamber of Commerce, while prior to their visit to Vranje, the Turkish businessmen had visited Leskovac, where they talked with local businessmen about mutual cooperation.
