SEIZURE OF A LARGE QUANTITY OF CIGARETTES

Members of the police, in cooperation with customs officers, seized around 150,000 “Eve Slim” cigarettes near Mostanica, on the Vranje – Leskovac road, which had the excise stamps of Kosovo and Metohija and which were without the required documentation, the Customs Administration said.

During a detailed control of the vehicle, 15 cartons of cigarettes, which contained 7, 500 packets of “Eve Slim” cigarettes, were found on its rear seat and in the trunk.

According to the statement, a citizen of Vranje (24), who was unnamed at the time, tried to smuggle the cigarettes by transporting them from Bujanovac to central Serbia for the purpose of selling them.

Given that the value of the goods is greater than a third of the value of the vehicle, in addition to the found cigarettes, the vehicle was temporarily impounded too, until court proceedings are completed, it was also said in the statement.
