19. October 2020.

Vranje, Bujanovac, Medvedja  - Students of the Secondary School of Economics and Commerce from Vranje will, among others, compete for this year’s best student company in Serbia in the national finals of the "Business Challenge", the South Serbia News portal reported.

The competition gathered 106 students from 23 secondary schools from the southeastern Serbia, those from Aleksinac, Blace, Bojnik, Bujanovac, Leskovac, Medvedja, Nis, Pirot, Prokuplje, Svrljig, Vlasotince, Vranje and Zitoradja.

The teams had the task of designing a product or service that would change the habits of people in the household that are not in line with an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

After having been assisted by business mentors, they prepared business plans and video presentations for their ideas, which they presented to the jury members on the second day of the competition.

Members of the three first-place teams have secured their place in the National Finals, which will be held in Belgrade in February, with national winners taking part in the Western Balkans Business Challenge, along with their peers from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro.

The "Business Challenge" competition was launched twelve years ago with the intention of encouraging secondary school students to use their skills in an innovative way in order to improve their entrepreneurial spirit and increase their employment opportunities.

During the school year, over 600 students from 90 municipalities in Serbia participate in six regional Business Challenges, in which educational programs Achievements of Youth in the Field of Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy are implemented.
