REGIONAL CALL FOR THE SHORT STORY ISSUED BY “BIBER” (DEADLINE: DECEMBER 1, 2020)

24. September 2020.

The regional call for the short story “Biber” is open until December 1, 2020 for the authors who write in Serbian, Albanian, Macedonian, Bosnian, Montenegrin or Croatian - both for the affirmed authors and for those who have not yet published their works.

The theme of the call has been expanded, so that apart from the stories on reconciliation in the context of the legacy of wars and violence in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, it also includes the stories that can contribute to better understanding among people, reduce hatred and break down prejudices, as well as anti-war stories, stories that deal with the past and with breaking down the images of enemies, empathy for others, brave stories that dare to walk in "enemy" shoes, stories that push boundaries and open the way to building a more secure, safer and freer future for all.

The authors of the three best stories will be awarded cash prizes.

At least 20 selected short stories will be published in a multilingual collection of short stories.

The competition is organized by the “Biber” team, with the support of the Center for Non-Violent Action Sarajevo-Belgrade.

Further information on the terms of the call and prizes is available on Biber's website biber.nenasilje.org
