"REFORMS IMPLEMENTED IN THE SOUTHERN PART OF THE COUNTRY, TOO"

30. July 2013.

Belgrade - The claims that judicial reforms aren’t implemented in Bujanovac and Presevo are untrue, said Zoran Stankovic, the Head of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. As for the claim that talks on engaging the Serbian judges and prosecutors are being held with the Albanians, Mr. Stankovic said:

"That isn’t true, either, since the municipal court, along with all other judiciary and prosecution structures, is anticipated in Bujanovac. We and the President of the Municipal Assembly paid a visit to the President of the court in Vranje, with whom we agreed on employment of the personnel, primarily of the people who had been fired", said Mr. Stankovic.

He added that talks about Presevo getting the municipal court were held, but that more would been known about the establishment of the court after the parliamentary debate. When asked why the municipality of Medvedja didn’t receive a penny of the funds allocated for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the three municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, he said that there wasn’t a single adequate application from there.

"It's a bit strange that the environment like Medvedja isn’t able to make a draft plan of activities for small and medium-sized enterprises. Those businessmen didn’t have good applications and proposals for the expenditure of funds, though the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, the local self-government and experts from the Coordination Body participated in the preparations", said Mr. Stankovic. He added that the competition would be repeated at the end of August. 60 million dinars are envisaged for the development of enterprises and an increase in employment, out of which Bujanovac and Presevo received 48 million dinars, while Medvedja failed to obtain 12 million dinars intended for it.
