PROTESTS IN LOJANE CAUSED BY A SMALL BORDER CROSSING

Presevo, Lipkovo - Villagers of Lojane, which is located along the border with Serbia, on the Macedonian side, and which is inhabited exclusively by Albanians, announced that they would block the Tabanovci border crossing unless a minor border crossing between that and the neighboring village of Miratovac, in the municipality of Presevo, were opened soon.

According to representatives of the local community of Lojane and the municipality of Lipkovo, everything was ready for the opening of the small border crossing a few years ago, so that the villagers Lipkovo and Lojane can’t understand why the opening of that border crossing was stalled.

Villagers of Lojane said that they were forced to reach the neighboring village of Miratovac, which is located in Serbia, by covering dozens of kilometers because they were compelled to use the official border crossing.

Villagers of Lojane said that the residents of the two villages were bound by close family relationships, as well as by the ownership over arable land, which is located on both sides of the Macedonian-Serbian border.
