PROMOTION OF THE PROJECT “WE HAVE INTEGRATED INTO SOCIETY –SO CAN YOU"

Vranje – The project “We Have Integrated into Society – So Can You” was presented in Vranje. Ljljana Vasic, the Coordinator and the Head of the “Aid for Children” humanitarian organization from Belgrade talked about the purpose and importance of the project.

She said that the project referred to the peer support to migrants, returnees, deportees and refugees in Serbia and that it would be implemented in several stages.

“The first step in the project is to create a database, then to choose the individuals that will undergo a training course in helping returnees and ultimately to provide the necessary financial, legal and technical assistance for easier and faster integration of returnees from abroad into society. There is also a possibility of continuing education at primary and secondary schools, validating documents, procuring textbooks and stationery, enabling additional classes and transportation to educational institutions and schools for adults, "Ms. Vasic said.

The project will include 850 people, aged 12 to 35. It will last two years and will be implemented in Bujanovac, Vranje, and Surdullica.

Project partners are the Youth Forum for the Education of Roma from Bujanovac and the Association for the Education of Roma from Surdulica.

The project is worth around 150,000 euros. The donor is the "Schuler Helfen Leben" Foundation from Germany.
