PROGRAM OF STRATEGIC LITIGATION RELATED TO EXERCISING THE RIGHT TO EQUALITY AND PROHIBITION OF DISCRIMINATION (DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 4, 2017)

Praxis, the Equal Rights Trust (ERT) and the Sandzak Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms invite male and female lawyers to participate in the Program of Strategic Litigation Related to Exercising the Right to Equality and Non-Discrimination.

The goal of the program is to support male and female lawyers in the use of strategic litigation within the national judicial system, for the purpose of improving the legal framework for exercising the right to equality and non-discrimination. The program aims to increase the number of male and female lawyers willing to initiate proceedings relating to cases of violation of the right to equality and the prohibition of discrimination, to improve judicial practice in connection with cases of violations of the right to equality and prohibition of discrimination in Serbia, and to facilitate greater access to justice for victims of discrimination.

Applications may be submitted until September 4, 2017 at 5 pm.

The activity is part of the project "Improvement of the Legal Framework and Policies for Achieving Equality and Monitoring their Application in Practice," which the ERT, Praxis and the Sandzak Committee for the Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms implement with the support of the European Union, through the EIDHR, in the period from January 2017 to January 2019.
