PROGRAM FOR YOUTH

30. July 2012.

The Youth Initiative for Human Rights and the Youth Center from Presevo will present today in Bujanovac and Presevo the program for involving young people in social and political life of their local communities.

Young people from Presevo and Bujanovac will be offered an internship in civil society organizations, the attending of foreign language courses, the training in journalistic techniques, as well as workshops that include tips for starting their own businesses.

The principles and practice of civil society organizations in youth centers will be presented to participants in the project, and they will also be connected with their peers, who are involved in the work of NGOs and the media in other municipalities in Serbia.

Such an approach makes it possible for young people to acquire the necessary skills that will help them to far more easily overcome ethnic, religious and political differences.  The project is funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), through the "Initiative for Advocating Civil Society," program, which is run by the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC).
