PRESS RELEASE ON A SESSION OF THE NARROWER COMPOSITION OF THE PRESIDENCY OF THE COORDINATION BODY - 19. October 2009.

It was agreed at an extraordinary session of the narrower composition of the presidency of the Coordination Body that the remaining working groups should be set up in the coming period, in accordance with what was specified in the Agreement on the Principles of Reconstruction of the Coordination Body. Over the next two weeks, in addition to the Working Group for Education, Culture, Information, Youth and Sports, which operates successfully, the other working groups, which include the Working Group for Economics and Infrastructure Development, the Working Group for Political Integrations, the Working Group for Security and Judiciary, the Working Group for Strengthening Local Self-Government Capacities and the Working Group for Healthcare and Social Welfare Policy, will be established.

The goal of establishing all the working groups is to increase the efficiency of the Coordination Body’s operation. The task of the working groups, as a part of the set priorities, is to prepare decisions, plans and operational programs, which are verified by the presidency of the Coordination Body. Each working group consists of 12 members, out of whom three are from the competent ministries, whereas three members are appointed by the local self-government.

It was agreed at the meeting that the presidency of the Coordination Body would set the guidelines and appoint members of the commission for each open competition on the allocation of funds from the Coordination Body’s budget. In the future, the commission members will also include members of local self-governments from Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

The presidency took a stand that meetings with representatives of competent ministries, aimed at resolving concrete issues in various fields, should be initiated.
