PRESS RELEASE - FACULTY OF ECONOMICS’ DEPARTMENT

The entrance exam for enrollment in the first year of study is being taken, today, at the Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac. Mladen Sarcevic, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development, and Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, wished good luck to the future students.

Minister Sarcevic said that the opening of the Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac was an undertaking of great importance for the Government of the Republic of Serbia and underscored that the said department had the absolute and maximum support of the Ministry.

„The Faculty of Economics has come to stay in Bujanovac. Studying at the Faculty is a chance for young people from the area to develop the entrepreneurial spirit, which is precisely the direction in which our country is going, " Minister Sarcevic said.

As before, classes will be held in two languages, in Serbian and Albanian, while the degrees obtained from the Faculty are recognized in the EU member countries and in the world.

Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body, said that providing conditions for a long-term development of higher education in that area was in full compliance with the relevant laws of Serbia, including due regard for the needs of the local self-government and the citizens.

„The education of young people at the Subotica Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac makes it possible for young people from the area, which is one of the economically underdeveloped regions, to receive education without going away from their homes and develop their potential, which will strengthen economically not only Bujanovac, but the entire region. This institution of higher education contributes not only to the economic development, but also to the political stability, "Mr. Stankovic said.
