According to all the available data in the field, which were collected by the relevant governmental departments, the situation in South Serbia is stable and calm, said Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. We are in constant contact with the competent governmental authorities, the government and the ministers, while we continuously coordinate with the local authorities in Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. 

“We have been in the field from the moment when the conflict broke out in Macedonia and we continuously monitor the situation. There are no indications that Serbia is threatened and there is no reason for the citizens of Serbia to be concerned, "said Mr. Stankovic. 

President of the Coordination Body pointed out that the competent authorities monitored the situation minute by minute, and that all the services in Presevo were on standby.  

Mr. Stankovic explained that there weren’t many vehicles from Macedonia going to Serbia, and that the day before, Macedonian citizens had crossed the border for the purpose of visiting their relatives in Presevo. 

“Unil now, no person has been registered as a refugee from the territory of Macedonia, "said Mr. Stankovic. 

Mr. Stankovic also said that the situation regarding the Serbian population in Macedonia was monitored, too, explaining that our embassy was in constant touch with them, and that there hadn’t been any reports of their vulnerability.
