PRESIDENT VUCIC: WE WILL BUILD A FAST RAILWAY TO NIS, TOO, AND WILL FURTHER IMPROVE THE SOUTHERN PART OF SERBIA

2. June 2020.

Nis - Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republic of Serbia, said during his talks with representatives of the Chinese company for the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest high-speed railway, the section from Belgrade to Stara Pazova, that a high-speed railway from Belgrade to Nis would be built, too, with the aim of further improving the southern part of Serbia.

President Vucic pointed out that it would be very important to build, apart from another section on the route to Budapest, the one from Novi Sad to Subotica, a high-speed railway from Belgrade to Niš, which would be up to 200 kilometers per hour, and then from Nis to Presevo, at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

President Vucic also said that the topic was already being discussed with the Chinese companies and Russian railways that were building the section of the high-speed railway from Stara Pazova to Novi Sad.

Upon seeing the applications for distributing 100 euros to the citizens, President Vucic said that he noticed that 50 percent of the population lived in only six districts, mostly in the north of the country, and that was why it was important to further improve the southern part of Serbia.
