PRESIDENT OF THE COORDINATION BODY AND MINISTER OF PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION AND LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT VISITED PRESEVO AND BUJANOVAC

Presevo, Bujanovac - Zoran Stankovic, President of the Coordination Body, and Ana Brnabic, Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, visited the municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac.

During the visit, Mr. Stankovic and Minister Brnabic met with the heads of the local self-governments, visited the centers for temporary reception of migrants in Bujanovac and Presevo, as well as the Bujanovac-based "Lagado" company.

They also participated in the conference entitled "The Integration of Albanians in South Serbia in the Light of (Non) Implementation of the Government's Agreements", which refer to that area.  The said conference was organized by the Human Rights Committee from Presevo.

Mr. Stankovic and Minister Brnabic discussed with Sciprim Arifi and Saip Kamberi, the Mayors of Presevo and Bujanovac,  the key issues faced by the local self-governments, as well as the largest drawbacks affecting the quality of life of the citizens of those municipalities.

Also disscussed at the meetings was the resumption of talks on the "Seven-Point Report” which the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted on June 4, 2013.  

"We also talked about the operation of the Albanian National Council and concluded that it was necessary to increase the budget for its operation, despite the results of the most recent census," said Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government.

Speaking of the transfer of registers to electronic form, which a total of 30 local self-governments had done until then, Minister Brnabic said that the two municipalities operated in a well-organized manner. The local self-government of Bujanovac completed the job, while the job of transferring registries to electronic form was neraly completed in Presevo.  

Talking about the outpatient maternity ward in Presevo, Minister Brnabic said that the “Welcome to the World, Baby” electronic service was not operational yet, but that it would start operating by the end of the year. 

The Human Rights Committee’s conference, which was organized at the “Rozafa” hotel in Bujanovac, was, apart from the Mayors of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, attended by the Ambassadors of Switzerland and Albania to Serbia, Philippe Guex and Ilir Bocka,  the MPs  in the Serbian Parliament from Bujanovac and representatives of political parties.
