PRESIDENT OF COORDINATION BODY MEETS WITH HIGH COMISSIONER FOR NATIONAL MINORITIES ASTRID THORS

Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, met with Astrid Thors, the High Commissioner on National Minorities. On that occasion, they discussed the issues related to the municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja.

Discussed at the meeting were the results and the promotion of the Study on the Possibilities of Improving the Teaching and Learning of Serbian as a Second Language in Elementary Schools in the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. The High Commissioner on National Minorities expressed satisfaction with the survey’s results and pointed out that the study would be a model for other parts of Serbia, as well as for some countries in the southeastern Europe. In addition, also discussed at the meeting was the Faculty of Economics’ Department in Bujanovac, while the High Commissioner on National Minorities pointed out that further work on the issue would be one of the priorities of the Office of the High Commissioner on National Minorities.
