PRESEVO PREMISES FOR REFUGEES RENOVATED

18. December 2015.

Presevo – Minister Aleksandar Vulin and the Norwegian Ambassador to Serbia Arne Sannes Bjornstad opened the renovated premises of the Center for the Reception of Refugees in Presevo, where migrants will have better conditions during the winter months.

The renovated premises of the former Tobacco Industry will be able to accommodate 650 people. The novelties at the center include loos, shower cubicles and rooms for the accommodation of parents with children.

Minister Vulin said that Serbia could now, in its territory, accommodate around 6,000 migrants in heated rooms.

The construction of the premises for a long-term stay of migrants in Presevo was assisted by the Kingdom of Norway, which has, thus far, directly provided 3.2 million euros in aid to migrants, as well as 3.2 million euros more through various humanitarian projects.
