PRESENTATION OF THE HELP PROJECT IN MEDVEDJA

23. April 2018.

Medvedja -The first presentation of the Help project of support to self-employment and entrepreneurship was held at the assembly room of the municipality building in Medvedja.

The project "Support to Socio-Economic Stability in the Western Balkans" is financed by the German government and the municipalities involved in the project. The component of economic empowerment through support to income-generating activities in Serbia is implemented in Medvedja, Leskovac, Nis, Svrljig, Pirot and Mionica. The presentations are open to the public and may be attended by all interested persons. The presentation was conducted by Stanislava Kulidzan and Lazar Ristic from the Help.

The opening speech was given by Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, who thanked the young for their great interest and welcomed all the attendees.

“This is the first in a series of presentations conducted by Help. We all know what the citizens of Medvedja miss, that they mostly need new jobs, because small communities cannot develop without them. Our municipality, as well as other smaller communities that are located a long way away from the highway, must base their development on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. This is an exceptional opportunity for all those who are unemployed and who have ideas. They should seize the opportunity to obtain, through this project, favorable conditions for financing small businesses. We planned to support 15 micro businesses in the municipality of Medvedja or to help 15 or so micro business to stand on their own feet,” Mayor Arsic said.

Grants in the equipment of the average value of 2.400,00 euros, business and vocational training in accordance with the needs of users, networking and monitoring during the project are available to the persons interested in starting and/or expanding micro and small businesses.  The obligations of users who sign a contract on the donation are the financial contribution of 20% of the value of the equipment, 8 hours of community service, registration of the activities in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Serbia and/or additional employment of one worker, as well as attending business training, which is, as part of the project, organized by Help.
