PRESENTATION OF THE BEST COMPANIES FROM SOUTH SERBIA

23. March 2011.

Bujanovac – Yesterday, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) held in Bujanovac a presentation of the best small and medium-sized companies from South Serbia, which the USAID had supported through its programs over the previous two years.  Marilyn Schmidt, Deputy Mission Director of the USAID Serbia, said at the presentation that over two and a half years, during the USAID’s support to the companies, a 49 per cent production and sales growth was achieved by the five best companies.

“In 2007, these five companies had 80 employees and their annual income was 1.6 million US dollars. Today, these companies have 123 employees and their sales amount to 4.5 million US dollars per annum, which are impressive results in the conditions of the current economic crisis and I believe that large  world companies would like to hear the secret of their success,” she said.

Out of 94 companies supported by the USAID in Jablanica and Pcinj districts, ranked number one according to production growth is the Presevo- based company “Tober skele”. It is followed by “Celik” from Presevo, “Keramika” and “Termomont” from Leskovac and by “Eniluks” from Presevo.
