PRESENTATION OF THE ACT PROJECT TO SUPPORT LOCAL CSOS

Helvetas Swiss Inter-Cooperation and the Civic Initiatives NGO invite interested civil society organizations to attend the launch of the ACT project on December 17, 2019, from 10.30am to 3pm at the House of Activism (Dobračina 55, Belgrade). 

The goal of the project is active civil society, in which citizens are more involved in decision-making processes, especially at the local level.

The ACT project has three components through which civil society will be supported, with a focus on the organizations at the local level. Support will be provided through various grant schemes and capacity building of organizations with a focus on:

• Building and strengthening CSOs' ties with the citizens, strengthening CSOs' capacity for public advocacy and better formulating the citizens' needs and strengthening the capacity for providing services in the local community;

• The exchange of knowledge and experience of CSOs, as well as the establishment of cooperation, through different CSO networks, in order to increase the influence in the decision-making process for the benefit of the citizens;

• Cooperation between CSOs and local self-governments with the aim of providing better services to the citizens.

You should confirm the participation of CSO representatives by December 10, 2019 at the latest by signing  up on https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZFXL3PV . Signing up will be limited due to the limited seating capacity. If you are unable to attend, you will be able to follow the event through livestream, which will be provided on the Civic Initiatives website or through the ACT Project Facebook page.

ACT will hold info days throughout Serbia next year detailing future project activities and the grant program.

The implementation of the project was made possible by the Government of Switzerland, through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), which had allocated a total of 5.3 million Swiss francs for the implementation of the program "For Active Civil Society Together - ACT.

The working language is Serbian, including interpretation into and from English. The organizer of the event will cover the travel expenses of participants outside Belgrade.
