PARTICIPANTS IN THE YOUTH BUILD PROGRAM "EMPLOYMENT OF YOUNG WOMEN IN THE IT SECTOR" ON A STUDY VISIT TO BELGRADE

25. November 2015.

Bujanovac - The project "Employment of Young Women in the IT Sector" was launched with the idea of providing young women from less developed areas a chance to create the opportunities for new jobs and start their own business in the promising IT industry by means of adjusting their skills to the labor market. They will soon complete their intensive training in the development and maintenance of websites. The project also includes training in local activism, which all participants in the program have successfully undergone.

What is still ahead of them is a study visit to Belgrade, which will take place from November 25 to 27, 2015.

As part of the visit, 30 young women will have the opportunity to meet and exchange views with leading experts in the field of IT, women entrepreneurs who have already proven themselves and who will only further motivate participants in the program to continue building their careers in this field.

Participants in the program will visit the Microsoft Company and its Development Centre. They will talk to Microsoft’s female engineers, while their team will present them the BizSpark program for start-ups.

They will also visit the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia and the Human Rights House.

Program participants will get practical advice on how to use the newly acquired IT skills, familiarize themselves with the operation of start-up businesses and concrete steps regarding entrepreneurship.

The project "Employment of Young Women in the IT Sector" is implemented by the Association of Citizens for Democracy and Civic Education "Civic Initiatives", while it is funded by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Serbia.
