“OPEN CLUB” ASSOCIATION FOR DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH ISSUED A CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR SHORT STORIES ON THE TOPIC OF CHILDREN'S RIGHTS

2. December 2016.

Bujanovac – The Association for Development of Children and Youth - Open Club from Nis, in partnership and collaboration with six civil society organizations from the southeastern part of Serbia, issued a call for applications for short stories about children's rights, which runs from November 25, 2016 to January 31, 2017. The call was issued as part of the project "Children's Rights in Stories and Practice."

The heroes of the stories may be the children and young people who are up to 18 years old, whose rights were violated or who were excluded from community life. They may also be those who are in a disadvantageous position compared to their peers, those who are on the margins of society, those who are exposed to poverty, discrimination, violence, those who do not have access to quality education and who are denied the rights to social welfare and healthcare, etc.

The story has to be true. For the purpose of protecting the right to privacy, the names of heroes can be changed. If the story gets short-listed, it is necessary for its writer to prove that it is true by providing the appropriate documents.

The story should have up to 1,000 words and it should be written by using the Times New Roman font size 12.

Eligible to apply, among others, are all schoolchildren and youths from the area of Bujanovac and Vranje.

The stories are to be e-mailed to storytellingserbia@gmail.com , including the submission of names and surnames of their authors and their contact telephone numbers, indicating from which city or municipality they apply.

The story selection committee will reward three most successful stories in each city/municipality  by awarding prizes in the amount 100 euros for the first, 60 euros for the second and 40 euros for the third place.

The project was supported by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia.
