Slobodan Draskovic, the mayor of Medvedja, stated yesterday that the local self-government had provided a location for construction of a prison. According to the Serbian government’s  project,  the prison should be for 450 prisoners.

“We have provided a site in the vicinity of the village of Macedonce. The site is 3.5 acres large and it has all the necessary public infrastructure. According to the information I have received from the competent ministry, the construction of the facility should begin next spring,” Mr. Draskovic said.
According to him, around 200 people, mostly those from Medvedja, should get emplyed there.
