NUMEROUS WEB PORTALS IN SOUTH SERBIA

Vranje - In recent years, many informative web portals are all over the south of Serbia. All of them are struggling for the Internet readers.

Owners and editors of these sites justify their existence by the fact that citizens are interested in what happens in their area of service, starting from the service, through sports, to political information, which often have no place in the "big" media.

Predrag Blagojevic from Niš, the editor of the "Southern News "portal, which began operating in January 2010, says that the site covers the Nis, Jablanica, Pčinj, Toplica and Pirot districts .
The aim of all web portals is the providing of good information in a fast manner, while portal editors say that each web portal has its own readers.

"We have a good team of correspondents, but we are beginners in on-line journalism, since we began operating less than a year ago. It turned out that our readers believe us and the readership is growing by the hour, "says the editorial board of the Leskovac "Jugmedija " agency. “

Pioneers in Internet journalism in South Serbia are journalists of the portal "Presevo. com “portal, which recently celebrated 15 years of its existence.

“It started as a joke, but it is successful now. Our target audience included many guest workers from this area, who were looking for any sort of information. Now we have 100. 000 visits a month, "said Driton Salihu, the editor of this portal.

Vranje’s portal "Vranje Press" is going to celebrate ten years of its successful operation on July 17. Vojkan Ristic from "Vranje Press" points out that the agency will, in the future, specialize in analytical work on the topics of the region, with emphasis on multi-ethnic relations.

The portals are mainly funded by donations and are supported by the local self-governments.
