NORWAY'S SUPPORT OF 700,000 EUROS TO BEGINNERS IN BUSINESS (DEADLINE: AUGUST 15, 2019)

26. July 2019.

The deadline by which future entrepreneurs and the existing companies in Serbia can apply with their projects for grants to the Kingdom of Norway through the "Norway for You" project has been extended until August 15, 2019, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) stated.

The Kingdom of Norway allocated 700,000 euros for economic activities that would contribute to the creation of new jobs, while future entrepreneurs and the existing micro and small enterprises from 91 local self-governments involved in the project may request financial assistance of up to 10,000 euros.

The public call aims to contribute to a more balanced socio-economic development through increasing employment opportunities and social cohesion in less developed areas.  As a result of these activities, it is expected that at least 70 new jobs will be created through the improvement of the existing businesses and the creation of new business entities, it was said in the statement.

The call was divided into two lots worth 350,000 euros each.

The first lot is aimed at unemployed people who want to start their own businesses, while future entrepreneurs to whom funding was approved would be required to participate financially in the project with ten percent of the total value of the project.

Eligible to apply for the second lot are the companies registered in the period from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2018, which need support for the creation of new jobs. They will be obliged to give a cash share of 20 percent of the total cost of the project, it was specified in the statement.
