NEW YEAR'S DECORATIONS FOR THE TOWN SQUARE FROM THE BUDGETARY RESERVES

12. December 2018.

Bujanovac –  The municipal council decided at the meeting to allocate 400,000 dinars for the purchase of New Year's lights. The funds for "decorating the square," as it was said at the meeting, would be set aside from the current budgetary reserves.

“In previous years, the local self-government paid for the decoration of the town square.  A specific company would set its own lighting in the square and would be paid for that service,” said Boban Pavlovic, the Head of the Finance Department.

Stojanca Arsic, the Deputy Mayor, explained why the municipal government had made the decision to purchase New Year’s lights virtually "at the last minute".

"Belgrade paid 2 million euros for New Year’s lighting, while it is still not known how much Novi Sad will pay for it, not to mention other large cities in the country. It would, therefore, not be right if Bujanovac had no New Year’s lights at all,” Mr. Arsic said.

Agron Avdiu, the Head of the Public Procurements Department and a member of the  Commission of the same name, said that there would be enough time to carry out the public procurement procedure.

“Since it is a purchase order, we will invite at least three potential bidders, so that the entire procedure should not take more than a week," Mr. Avdiu said.
