NEW MEASURES OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA FOR THE SUPPRESSION OF THE COVID 19 EPIDEMIC

Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja - On Saturday, the Government of the Republic of Serbia adopted new measures for the suppression of the epidemic caused by the COVID-19 virus, the implementation of which shall begin today and shall last for the next ten days.

The new measures, which shall be in force from November 24 to December 3, restrict the working hours of catering facilities, such as restaurants, cafes, bars, clubs, as well as shopping centers, theaters, cinemas and other cultural institutions and organizers of special and classic games of chance, which shall not operate from 6 pm to 5 am the next day, it is stated in the new Government’s Decree published in the Official Gazette.

By this Decree, some articles of the previous Decree have been amended, so that it remains that shops and other retail trade facilities shall not be open from 9 pm to 5 am.

Pharmacies, gas stations performing fuel sales activities and catering and other facilities that deliver food, may operate without restrictions, it is stated in the Decree.

Among the new measures, as announced by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, is the obligatory and unconditional use of personal protective equipment (wearing a protective mask) indoors, as well as outdoors in the situations in which interpersonal contacts cannot be avoided.

The Government also prescribed a ban on all public gatherings with the presence of more than five persons indoors and outdoors.

Excluded from this measure are work organizations, schools, shops, shopping centers and similar facilities, which are subject to the prescribed limit on the number of persons present at all times in relation to the square footage of the facility (minimum 4 m2 per person).

The government has also prescribed the measure of making it possible to work from home for all employees whose work process allows it.

Among the measures is also strict control of the obligation to wear a protective mask in public transport vehicles, with the limitation of the maximum number of passengers in the vehicle to half of the vehicle capacity.

Strict control of the implementation of home isolation, home quarantine (self-isolation), as well as all other anti-epidemic measures in force has also been prescribed.

The aforementioned measures are limited to a period of 10 days and shall be reconsidered in accordance with the current epidemiological situation.
