NEW MEASURES IN BUJANOVAC: WEARING MASKS OUTDOORS IS OBLIGATORY, GATHERINGS OF MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE ARE BANNED

16. July 2020.

Bujanovac – Whether, a week after the introduction, the implementation of emergency measures against COVID-19 will begin in the municipality of Bujanovac, especially those regarding the restriction of working hours of catering facilities in the period from 7 am to 8 pm, will be known on Thursday, July 16, when a session of the municipal Staff for Emergency Situations is scheduled.

What is certain is that the Staff will reconcile the decision with what was prescribed by the Republican Crisis Staff, and that is, among other things, the obligatory wearing of protective masks outdoors when it is not possible to keep a 2 – meter distance and a ban on gatherings of  more than 10 people outdoors, too.

These measures will be valid in the territory of the entire country and will start to be applied on Friday, July 17.

“Protective masks are also mandatory outdoors, in places where it is not possible to provide a 1,5 meter distance, such as queues in front of shops, pharmacies, bus and train stops and the like. It is recommended to wear protective masks in all other outdoor public places. During the stay in public places, there must be a 1,5 meter distance  between those gathered, or each person must occupy at least four square meters, "the Crisis Staff said.

Setting the working hours of catering facilities remains with the local self-governments, and numerous cities and municipalities that have declared a state of emergency or introduced emergency measures due to the spread of the corona virus, have restricted the working hours of cafes and bars to 8 pm.

This was also prescribed in the municipality of Bujanovac by the measures adopted on July 8, at the suggestion of the Director of the Health Center, Dr. Lela Jovanovic, due to the "alarming situation with the corona virus".

However, although the implementation of the measures should have started "on the day of adoption", as stated in the document, which was signed on the same day by the Deputy Commander of the Staff Stojanca Arsic, the implementation was postponed by the Municipality of Bujanovac with a notification addressed to the citizens that the measures were not valid until the new assessment of the situation was done "in the next two days".

The Bujanovac Health Center is waiting for the test results for another 37 suspicious cases. The total number of corona patients in the municipality of Bujanovac since the beginning of the epidemic is now 41.
