Vranje/Bujanovac – Nevena Petrušić, the Commissioner for Protection of Equality, paid a two-day visit to South Serbia. A round table entitled "The Commissioner for Protection of Equality and Discrimination against Women" was held in the great hall of the assembly of the city of Vranje.

As part of the visit to Vranje, the institution of the Commissioner organized a presentation of its mandate and methods of work for the institutions and organizations that are responsible for protection and response to violations of the right to equality. The topics discussed in the meeting include the position of women in Serbia, the way in which women can exercise their rights and particularly the role that the Commissioner has in the process.  As part of her visit to Vranje, the Commissioner met with women from non-governmental organizations and those from rural areas and talked with them about their needs and problems and the ways in which the institution of the Commissioner can assist them.  

The Commissioner visited the municipality of Bujanovac, too, where she met with representatives of institutions and organizations and presented them the methods of work and the responsibilities of the institution of the Commissioner for Protection of Equality.
