MR. STANKOVIC: PRESIDENT META NEVER ONCE MENTIONED KOSOVO AND METOHIJA WHILE HE WAS IN MEDVEDJA

29. November 2017.

Belgrade – Zoran Stankovic, the President of the Coordination Body of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, denied the allegations made by the Presheva jone portal, according to which Ilir Meta, the President of Albania, during his visit to Medvedja, "wanted Belgrade to reach the “right decision” in the near future and recognize Kosovo."

Mr. Stankovic said that he did not want to comment on the writing of that portal, which, as he put it, fabricated news.

“Not once did the Albanian President mention Kosovo and Metohija in any context. During the visit, he expressed gratitude for the good reception and spoke of a new era and the promotion of relations between the two countries, as well as of the relations between Serbs and Albanians, " Mr.Stankovic said.

The President of the Coordination Body for the Municipalities of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja, said that he had been President Meta’s host and that he has had been present during President Meta’s entire visit.

“I was with President Meta from the moment he had passed through the crossing at Mutivode, followed by a press conference, during his visit to Sijarinska Spa, lunch with the Serbian and Albanian members of the Municipal Assembly of Medvedja, as well as during his visit to a primary school in the village of Tupale, "Mr. Stankovic said.
