MINSTER VULIN: GETTING AN INCREASE IN SALARY WILL ENABLE MEMBERS OF THE ARMY TO IMMEDIATELY HAVE A BETTER LIFE

Bujanovac, Presevo, Vranje - Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin said in Vranje that the situation in the ground  security zone in the municipalities of Bujanovac, Presevo and Vranje  was stable and peaceful, and that the Army of Serbia would not allow "a spillover of any negative political influences in this area."

The Defense Minister reiterated in Vranje that the salaries of members of the Army of Serbia would be increased by 10 percent by the end of the year, which should enable members of the Army to “immediately feel they are living better.” 

“It will not be the only measure for improving the living standard of members of the Army. We want to make a military profession as prestigious as it once was, "Minister Vulin said during his visit to the barracks "First Infantry Regiment of Prince Milos the Great "in Vranje.

Minister Vulin said that members of the Army of Serbia dealt perfectly with all security challenges, as well as with the migrant crisis.

Minister Vulin said that members of the Fourth Brigade of the Army, located in Vranje, who are in charge of the ground security zone, were in a "politically particularly sensitive area of ​​responsibility", and that they performed all their tasks professionally.

Minister Vulin said that the Army of Serbia (AS) would have exercises with "all those from whom we can learn something."

Minister Vulin said that the military training ground in the village of Vrtogos near Vranje would, after completion of works in 2018, be the regional center for training of members of the Army of Serbia. He pointed out that 59.7 million dinars had, so far, been invested in fixing it up, that 212 million dinars should still be invested in it, as well as that another 500,000 US dollars had been donated by the United States.  

According to him, the military training ground in the village of Vrtogos will be used for training within the capacity of the “Jug” military base near Bujanovac, which is used for training members of the Army of Serbia to participate in international peacekeeping operations.

The military training ground in Vrtogoš was, apart from the Defense Minister, visited by  General Ljubisa Dikovic, the Chief of General Staff of the Army of Serbia,
